What's up for the Weekend: May 23-25

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – Memorial Day services, a concert, and more are in store for you this holiday weekend.

Memorial Day services and parades will be held in Boston and all over the state this weekend. If you have never taken a walk through Boston Common on Memorial Day weekend, you should do it this year! Thirty-seven-thousand American flags are posted in honor of all the lives lost from Massachusetts in combat all the way back to the Revolutionary War.

And it's a huge weekend for alternative music lovers in the city of Boston. Tons of bands will be performing this weekend at Boston Calling concert series. The event will feature performances by Death Cab for Cutie, Jack Johnson and more. The festival really begins to take life on Thursday night and into Friday morning as the stages come together and City Hall Plaza is literally transformed into a multi artist concert venue.

You can kick off the weekend Thursday night at the 2nd Annual Taste of Faneuil Hall from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the upper rotunda and Ned Devine's Parris Lounge at Faneuil Hall Marketplace. You'll get to sample food and craft beers from Faneuil Marketplace restaurants and Quincy Market food hall vendors. Live music will round out the fun. Tickets are $10, and proceeds benefit Children's Hospital.

Who ya gonna call? Ghostbusters! It's the 30 year anniversary of the movie, and they're going to be featured at the Pop Culture Expo this Saturday and Sunday in Wilmington at the Shiners Auditorium. Tons of celebrities will be there signing autographs and meeting fans.

And here's a fun family one! A block party, building blocks that is. Have you heard about LegoLand in Somerville? The LegoLand Discovery Center is opening Friday. They have of course legos, rides, a 4D cinema and more!
