It's art, fashion and mechanics that are all about combining modern technology like computers, robotics, and air travel with things that were powered by steam in the 1800's. And there's an exhibit called Steampunk Springfield: Imagining an industrial city. There will be displays throughout downtown Springfield and the cultural historic district, and events, exhibits and concerts happening throughout the city until the end of September.

Also happening this weekend: HarpoonFest! Stop by the Harpoon Brewery on Friday or Saturday for live music and tastings. The cost is $20.

And if you can't wait until the weekend to kick back Boston Calling announced a block party series every Thursday evening now through September in Dewey Square, across from South Station. Local bands will play and there are drink and food options available.

Speaking of the Greenway, their open market kicks off this weekend. The art market runs from May to October on Saturdays and features all independent crafters and designers.
