What's up for the Weekend: June 6-8

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- What's up for the weekend? A black-tie gala is happening and a new water park is opening, and more.

There is a new indoor water park opening up in New England called the Great Wolf Lodge. It's out in Fitchburg and is 68,000 square feet. The grand opening is Friday and it's ready for visitors this weekend. The park featured playgrounds, mini golf, a ropes course, bowling, arcade, a spa, and more. However, there's a catch. You have to stay at the lodge to get into the park.

Who needs the Met Ball in New York City? Here in Boston the Museum of Fine Arts hosts their annual summer gala Saturday. It’s a black tie affair and they still have tickets for sale. The theme is art deco Miami Beach, and the money will go toward supporting the museum.

The Boston Bacon and Beer Festival has been postponed due to issues with the venue. ETix sent ticket holders an email with instructions. A new date and location have not been chosen yet. The Boston Bacon and Beer Fest is back. From 2:30 to 5 p.m. the top floor of the Landmark Center near Fenway celebrates bacon and beer! Tickets are $48, but the money goes to raise funds for Community Servings and Lovin' Spoonfuls.

And now, to Gronk. He's going to be at Gillette Stadium to buzz his head at "One Missions" fifth annual Kids Cancer Buzz Off Sunday. It's their largest annual fundraiser and has raised nearly $2 million for pediatric Cancer patients and their families. The money goes to Boston Children’s, The Jimmy Fund at Dana Farber and the Family Reach Foundation.

The Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl is an all-you-can-eat ice cream festival and it started Wednesday in Boston. The cost for adults is $10 and children ages 3 to 9 are $5.

Watch a roller derby! The Boston Derby Dames will challenge the Ohio Roller Girls on Saturday from 4 to 11:30 at the Simoni Ice Rink in Cambridge.

You can also check out the work of over 75 artists at the Coolidge Corner Arts Festival located on the grounds of the Devotion School, in Brookline's Coolidge Corner on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free.
